It’s finally cooling down here in Texas, and I am so excited for boots and oversized sweaters! With the cozy fall clothing, I figured I should try out a fun new nail polish color: Essie Chinchilly. I am obsessed!
It is this gorgeous dark gray with a purplish undertone. Like a chinchilla, right?
You know when you find a new color that you like and you are just constantly looking at your nails when you are typing or whatever and thinking “Gosh, I love this polish”? Well, that has totally been me with my Essie Chinchilly nails.
Now let me be completely honest. I am not someone who always has perfect manicured nails. In fact, quite the opposite: I’m super low maintenance when it comes to nails. So, please go easy on me with these close up photos 😉 . I rarely go to the nail salon except for special occasions because, to me, there are just so many things I prefer to spend money on.
Plus, I think you can get perfectly decent looking nails at home. No, they are not perfect and look like they just came out of a magazine. But, they look cute and make you feel a bit spruced up without the expense and maintenance of gel nails.
I actually got my Essie Chinchilly nail polish last Christmas as a stocking stuffer (my mom still makes us all stockings when we come home for Christmas as a fun tradition). I hadn’t used it yet because we ended up moving and things got packed away, etc. So, I just saw it yesterday and decided to put it on. Major heart eyes emoji.
By the way, if you have not tried Essie nail polishes, you have to! I was the same way. I am super frugal and would always just pick up an inexpensive one at the drugstore for like a buck. But, I really think the extra cost of Essie or OPI polishes is worth it! Even for someone like me who is not the most gifted at doing their own nails, they go on really buttery and smoothly and have such beautiful pigmented color.
Also, if you’re interested, I read a lot of reviews on top coats and Seche Vite tends to be everyone’s favorite. So I bought it and I have to agree. It dries super quickly and gives your nails that great high gloss finish.
So, take some me time this weekend and paint your nails with a new fun color. I definitely recommend adding Essie Chinchilly to your fall/winter nail polish rotation.
