One of the many reasons I choose to use Chrome as my internet browser is they have amazing free extensions! These extensions can really change the way you surf the internet by helping you save time and money.
I highly recommend you install 5 of my favorite free chrome extensions today:
1. Shoptagr
So you’re on a hunt for the perfect pair of heels to go with that gorgeous new dress you bought and low and behold you find them! But they are either 1) out of your budget or 2) sold out.
Fear not! Go install the Shoptagr extension today!
While online shopping, simply click on the Shoptagr icon (looks like a cursive “S”) in the upper right corner next to the web address. This screen will pop up:
Simply select your size, when you want to be notified (any price change, when it is 25% off, etc.), and the category. Then, click save!
As soon as that item goes on sale you will be notified via text or email so you can jump right on it before it sells out!
I love Shoptagr because everything is in one place and the interface is super user-friendly.
I can also share my wish list with my hubby or family come birthday or holiday time. I love him to death, but shopping is not his strong suit, so he appreciates being nudged in the right direction 😉
Once you have signed up and installed the extension, make sure you go to Shoptagr.com and update your settings for your notifications.

2. Camelizer
If you are an Amazon-aholic like me, you need this extension! Camelizer is the chrome extension from CamelCamelCamel.com.
With a push of a button, it compiles all the price history data for a product you are interested in on Amazon to help you decide if now is the time to buy.
I find it particularly useful for products that I buy over and over because I can stock up on them when its a good time to buy. For example, I can search for Pond’s cleansing towelettes that I use everyday on Amazon.
When I go to the listing, in the upper right corner next to the web address you see the Camelizer icon. Click it and a screen will pop up like this:
This shows you the price history for Amazon and 3rd party Amazon sellers so that you can decide when it is a good time to buy. What’s even more helpful is you can set your desired price and create a price watch so Camelizer will email you when the time is right to buy!
Keep in mind that this does not compare to other retailers like Target. For this, it is best to do a Google Shopping search. Just be sure to look at pack size and factor in shipping costs to make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
3. Great Suspender
Does this look familiar?:
One of my internet browsing vices is having dozens of tabs open at once. This can be a performance nightmare for your internet browser and may even cause it to crash. Thank goodness there is a solution: the Great Suspender chrome extension.
Great Suspender is a life saver. It keeps my browser running quickly and my laptop from burning my legs off.
Great Suspender works by “suspending” or inactivating tabs that you are not currently viewing so that they are not eating up memory. As soon as you want to view the tab again, you can click anywhere on the page to reload.
You can customize the settings to your preferences. For example, you can set the time that a tab sits inactive before it is suspended; I usually choose about 5 mins.
Also, you can customize so that certain sites never get suspended by adding them to your “whitelist”. For example, I added Pandora which is often playing in the background while I work, but I do not want it to be suspended.
4. Honey
Sick of trying a dozen different promo codes every time you are buying something online? Honey is for you!
Once you install Honey, it will pop up any time you are checking out at an online retailer. Say you need to order pizza for a last minute get together. You log on to Domino’s, select your pizzas and then to go to checkout…
Click “Find Savings!” and Honey will try applying all coupon codes in its database for that retailer to see which one will save you the most!
Could it be any easier?!
In my experience, some sites are always more successful than others just because some retailers offer more coupons as you savvy shoppers know! But it is always worth the minute or so of your time to double check because I have saved some serious cash! Click here to find out more about Honey.
5. Boomerang for Gmail
Boomerang will revolutionize the way you send emails using Gmail! Not kidding.
It is like your own personal assistant that can:
- Send an email later
- Remind you if you don’t get a reply
- Track responses
- Let you know if your email has been read
- Brings emails to your attention when you need them
And so much more! There are countless scenarios where Boomerang’s tools will come in handy, but here are a few…
Say you just finished up at an important networking lunch and you want to send a thank you email, but sending it right after would just look too desperate. Instead of adding it to your ever-growing to-do list, draft the email now, set the delivery time and let Boomerang do the rest!
Or say you are sending out a draft presentation and have asked for feedback by Wednesday. Instead of having to scribble a post-it reminder to follow up, simply ask Boomerang to remind you if you don’t get a response in time.
Boomerang doesn’t just help for emails to others. You can set it up so that you send yourself a reminder every month before a bill is due to make sure you paid it.
Not only has it decluttered my inbox, but it has decluttered my mind and my desk from excessive post-its. I no longer am bogged down by all the little things I try to remember and can focus on the important things. Here’s a short video demo on how it works:
I hope you enjoy this list of some of my favorite Chrome extensions. There are many more great ones that I use, so let me know if you’d like to see more posts like this one.
